Safety when travelling with your pet

When travelling with your pet in the car always ensure that your pet is contained and comfortable.  Either use dog crates or cages, making sure these are secure and cannot fly forward in case of emergency braking. 

There are also harnesses available that loop through the car’s seat belt if you want your dog on the back seat.

The use of a strong dog guard is also a good idea.  Whichever method you use make sure that the dog has enough room to turn round and has comfortable bedding. 

Journeys to shows in the UK or abroad take many hours so please remember when you stop for a break your dog needs one to.  Also ensure they have plenty water and if it is very warm a cage fan is a great addition to their quarters.  Sun blinds and reflective covers are also available to keep your dog comfortable.
