What is PetLog?
PetLog is the National Pet Identification Scheme, an initiative
of The Kennel Club, RSPCA and Scottish SPCA. It is a single
nationwide database, administered by The Kennel Club, containing
over 600,000 registered animals, including dogs, cats, horses,
and exotics.
Once microchipped with a chip that is part of the PetLog Scheme,
your pet’s details will be added to the National Pet Identification
Scheme. You can then sleep happy with the reassurance that,
if your pet is lost and identified by its microchip, there
is a 24 hour telephone helpline and website that will enable
you to be traced by an authorised body such as a dog warden,
police or welfare organisation.
What Information
is Recorded?
The database information is updated at your request; should
you move house, change telephone number or for any reason
that might effect your pet being reunited with you.
The PetLog Certificate
The PetLog Certificate holds the important information confirming
that your pet's details, as printed, are included on the PetLog
database.

Alert !
Pets chipped with "Pettrac" chips are no longer
registered with Petlog. Check on your certificate to
see if the name Pettrac appears, or if the number starts
with 1 and ends with A, or starts with 977.
If it does, contact Petlog on 0870 606 6751 who should
re-register you free as a goodwill gesture, unless the
pet has been chipped in the previous two years when
it will cost £5
Pettrac can be
contacted through their lost-and-found number 0800 652
